The Quest

Every stride defines another moment
That could so easily be the ending
But we all will walk with pride
With each step that I take I will make the most of what’s left
With every armament stripped I’ll have kept what means the most to me
This life won’t get the best of me
I’ll still walk with pride
In apathy I found misery
And here I am
On the front line
Without armor
Nothing to slow me down
Nothing to hold me back
It’s only forward from here on out
I am satisfied,
A king without servants
Yet I need nothing more
Let’s push ourselves
We have a lifetime
We only have a lifetime
When rain tapped gently on your windows
You boarded them up
While you were sheltered from the storm
I was running with the wolves
What apprehension
What fear
What doubt
What absolute rapture
My conscious runs as clear as rain fall
I will not be constrained by this mediocrity
Take a chance
Give it all you’ve got and then move on
I’ll continue to walk this path
Because the only other option is despair
In apathy I found misery
When we’ve seen it all
When we’re prepared to torch the skies
We will welcome Armageddon
We will welcome our demise
