These Are Times

Every once in a while, call it a blue moon
You can feel a smile, hear the calling loon
Where it’s from, alive at noon
Enjoy it while it lasts
It won’t take long, for a tragic song
In this world, hard to belong
While I’m here, I’ll bang the gong
Always over much too fast
These are times, with a glass of wine
Embrace the strange, see the signs
It’s all the same, the dots and lines
Blurring together, till the end of time
Ringing bells, nobody does come
In this hell, there is no sun
What can you sell, hear the gun
Find yourself in a corner
With nothing to lose, you begin to stand
No more crutches, in a foreign land
See the desert, full of sand
A hermit or a loner
These are times, with a glass of wine

Years go by, you can longer count
See the stars, hear the sound
Planting roots, in the ground
Wait for the upcoming rain
Growing fast, up to the sky
No bean stalk, no magic ride
Just a quest, getting high
From the seed in my brain
