When you see the hand you’re dealt
And what you’re up against
Nobody blames you to fold
Knowing the state you’re in
Every move is a struggle
An inch can feel a mile
Hope is left to juggle
Depending on the smile
Teachers you will meet
Or so, they claim to be
Other tracks are always played
Whenever you try to see
Do whatever you can to move
But never yet trapped in
Between the dark and the light
You can start to begin
The days turn to years and more
What happened to the dream
No longer can see any door
Is this all, it was meant to be
Moonlighting is the scene
Through shadows, you know where they fall
Moving faster, through the trees
Building fires for the thaw
Getting higher with every breath
The stars to feel the heat
Cross the web, without the spider
A battle you’ll always meet
Where can you go to relax
No more pounds of flesh
Try to breathe, without a tax
Finding holes in the net
Moving on to another town
Just the way it goes
Maybe jump off the train
Into the river that flows
Drift along until you tire
Feel the land again
Alone at last to walk the wire
