Storm to Last

With the wind screaming and howling, rattling down the doors
Branches breaking and flying, shaking is the floor
With only one light left to shine, who knows for how long
We keep on moving, write the line, and bang another gong
This is what we do, play the part of a fool
Never knowing when to quit, as stubborn as a mule
Have another cup of coffee, raise another glass
The storm is never ending, the struggle set to last
With the owls at the windows, and the ravens sing their song
The wolves have left their burrows, each to where they belong
When the eagle makes it’s dive, and the lion crouches low
The snake a place to hide, a blink and you’ll know
All turns to black, the seeds that we sew
No turning back, another stage of the show
When the cycles start their trending, and the choices have long since past
The storm is never ending, the struggle set to last
With the rocks set in circles, and a fire burning high
A flute starts to whistle, a drum beating to alive
See the spirits slowly rising, dancing in the air
Tempered by the raining, another form to appear
This is what we do, born again shining new
Always over much too fast, the turning of the wheel
