So tired of the casual conversation again
Everyone scared of transition to friend
Not wanting to listen to questions of why
Rather discuss what and who to buy
City of lights, can’t talk about that
Now in the dark, you ask very much
How about fate, any ideas to share
Too many choices, want to compare
Do I discount too much, some of life’s joys
Not understanding the purpose of toys
Seeing a circle, of every single thing
Hard to do anything, but ring, ring, ring
Read much, new ideas for learning
Places to go, curious mind wandering
Sports, watching might makes right
News, puppets speaking tonight
Government, new fears to protect and tax
Laws for the loopholes, stabbed in the back
Education, specialization keeping in place
Testing for kids running the race
Do I discount too much, some of life’s joys
Not understanding the purpose of toys
Seeing a circle, of every single thing
Hard to do anything, but ring, ring, ring
What do you do for work, no going there
Just want to forget about, while in here
So what can one do, with ideas feeling blue
Writing these lines, always the fool
How can I stop, going any further
Try too hard, says another winner
Maybe given up, from going any deeper
Prefer splashing, in trivial matter
