House of Glass

I’ve built this house around me, with walls so frail
So you can see right through
There are no doors nor windows, no creaks from which to breathe
Only silence and all of me
I can see your faces, but I can’t hear them speak
In awe and desperation, helpless and weak
Here in this tomb of light, I remain
For you to judge, and yours to betray
I tried to tear it all down, but you won’t let me leave
Suffer here some more, for all to see
I sense you’re longing for more, but I stand empty
You curse my name, I curse this house of glass
Judge me harshly, for I bear the sins of two
Victim to your scorn, but you won’t share the weight of your burdened life
Come closer to me
And see what you’ve created
For you all to see, I will shatter this all
Be a victim no more, stain my blood on the walls
In infamy, portraited, the life I have is a life no more
From the fear of your scorn I build this house for you alone
