I’ll keep this one to myself
Leave the rest of the world to cliché
Try and fail to put into words
What I go through every day
All the obstacles could wash up on the beach in September
Talk of life and love and ambitions for nothing in particular
If I could define or put into words
I hope Oxford omits us entirely
No one else should know or understand
Actions speak louder than all the rest
If it’s between you and any other adjective
Just so you know, for me there’s no contest
I’ll write essays of explanation
Mutter dates and times and phrases in futility
You’re a passionate example that I am learning how to handle patiently
We draw our lines, respectable
But New York makes it difficult
I’ll brave the unknown for you today
I’ve been paid lip service
But I’ll stick to what’s apparent
