why does it disappear so fast?
why can’t the daylight last?
i guess that’s why we sleep
darkness isn’t much to see
there’s no use staying up at all
and then you start your day
your giving side says «it's okay,
the darkness made it daylight somewhere else,
somewhere else.»
we can beg for explanations
no one knows just what to say

why can’t they stick around?
why are they so soon in the air or underground?

a forest burns, a flower grows
a willow weeps and sighs and weeps again
