Waking Up

Thursday night on the alley
Rain’s pouring down
Like dreams on the asphalt
I don’t know anyone here
It’s a sad reflection
Mapping strangers and silent dangers
Dreaming someone here I know
While I’m caught in this storm
Let me rise with the wind
So it’ll feel like flying
And if I gotta fall
Let me hold onto this cloud
So it’ll feel like dreaming
Or maybe waking up
I would like to be better at
Answering my phone
When people who love me call
I got that feeling of fear in my throat
And it’s shaken by
A future I don’t know at all
I’m at the end of the hall in a dream
A room filled with water and I don’t bother
To try to swim free
