City

the burning rays
of the sun punches through
the cellophane
of the lanterns here.
yet still the same
beams defrost the glowing snow
far away. a city waits.
the furnace breaks
as the flowers bloom.
the skeletons of the trees expand to brooms.
the sun goes down
yet the skyline is glistening.
oh it waits, the city waits.
