i saw the bodies on the news today
a stretch of desert half the world away
my eyes, victimized

they must be kidding, 'cause i don’t understand
sacrificing for a foreign land
who wields the hand of God
with rockets in the night
for God & Country you serve your time
fodder and friends on the firing line
for God & Country you rise and fall
will they remember that you gave it all?
the exit plan is a revolving door
people are tired and morale is poor
so meek, still they seek
some message on high
the heads of state gather in the hall
approval ratings have started to fall
they need martyrs please
