Sleepless

I’m sick of waking up inside my own dreams
I know I’m just escaping from me
And the person I was meant to be
I’m losing count of ways to forgive myself
When I should have some faith in the life I lead
Where do our hearts go when this is over?
Are we just like scattered leaves in the wind?
Are we taken with tides of the ocean?
As the waves come in
I’ll try to keep my head above the swell
