The knob on the TV is broken
That’s why it’s always on
And every word ever spoken
Finds its way into a song
There are noises in the attic
It’s probably water from the storm
Way down deep beneath the static
Misty words begin to form
And lately
I’ve been feeling
A little busted up and dusty
Since the ceiling
Came crashing down and I
Recall the screaming
Of a hundred angry people
I try to plug my ears

I’d like to think that when you’re dying

That’s a lovely thought for thinking
But it probably isn’t true
The tube one the TV has shattered
And I fear so has my soul
