Entropy

Everybody here
Is a piece of a perfect sphere
And looking back in time
I can see that I’m becoming clear
I am entropy
Take my family tree, it’s a trail of slime
Leading back in time
Down by the sea
Shining like the sun over me
Crumblin' like the ground beneath my feet
Sittin' on a rock in the wind
Feeding bits of my skin to an animal need
Swallowing my tongue and my teeth
Choking on my fear and my grief
Sittin' on a rock by the sea
Feeding what’s left of me to the creatures beneath
Every single day
A little warmth will slip away
Until the world is warmly
Uniformly dull and gray
That takes time
That’s the reason I’m not all that scared
There’s time to spare
Before we fade
Shining like the sun over me
