Beaks full of scent
Wings full of air
Always, ever aware of each feather
Each movement
I press my palm against the barbed wire
I press my face against the wet ground
I press my ear against the sound, against the sound, against the sound
Let me go down inside it
Down below it
Down to the sound of no sound
I never know what I’ll find
I’m always amazed
Forever surprised
Everything, every day
Is full of guidance and beauty
