Will you speak to me?
Say whatever
Words don’t mean a thing
Save for the gesture
I just need to hear your voice
Carrying the sound
Telling me that I am alive
'Cause I keep forgetting
Something so surreal
Has happened to me
Or was it just a dream?
I don’t remember
Staring at the ceiling
Every night so quiet
Save for all the noise in my head
Echoing the dread
Running from someone
Something somewhere
Or is it from myself
Ashamed and naked?
Cold and trying to hide from
All of the prying eyes abound
I crawl into my hole in the ground
Right where I belong
All that’s left of me
I’d surrender
For a chance to see
The child that I’ve never known
What has been taken
Can’t be given
Cut by innocence
Bled by living alone
If I could say what I’m thinking
Feel what I’m touching
Availed I’d be
My soul set free from this life
And if fiction made all the difference
In the picture I painted
All the world would wake to notice
