I’m never getting out of bed
I pull the sheets over my head
In hopes that sleeping will stop the beating in my chest
You’re gone when I wake up
Lethargic and losing touch
There’s nothing left and I need the rest
But a cold and empty bed’s just not enough
I don’t want this too get too far out of hand
I’ll do anything I can to keep her
I know I’ve got a guilty face
Dozing off in the wrong place
I just can’t seem to last
But that’s the past after today
You’re looking over me
Appearances deceive
It’s not an act, I really want you back
Life without you would just put me to sleep

I blankly stare at a piece of paper
The words that it contains seem just as blank
A speech that I prepared but I can barely concentrate
I recite these lines a thousand times
And it never gets any easier to say
