On My Own

I’m always up late thinking maybe
Could this be a big mistake?
Have I made the wrong decision?
Is this the right road to take?
I could have had a nine to five
Or been in school just like my parents wanted
But now I’m feeling so alive
I found the sunshine, I’m no longer haunted
And I feel the fire burning
Deep within my soul
Striving for perfection
When I reach it, let me know
And I feel I need some guidance
But my pride won’t let it show
And although the road is frightening

Working late to earn my keeping

The night is cold, I should be sleeping
