Raft of Desolation

Escape was the only way out of it all
I drifted too far, too far out of reach
In the eye of the storm
Calm in the center of the vortex of chaos
On the vast oceans
Where the tide takes you away
Out in the desert
Where the sand paints the scenes
The wind alone now controls my destiny
And the deep waves beneath
Somewhere there was a shore
Now out of sight
Forever
Starving to death on this forsaken
Raft of desolation
Endless sea
Reaching out to the edge of the world
There I was like a drop in the ocean
Sailing away with my fading dreams and hope
No drop of water in this ocean I could drink
No sun in the sky that won’t burn my skin
I am now just a shade of what I used to be
All life drained out of me and nothing will ever be
