My Ship Came In

My ship came in, it sailed away again
And I was not onboard, I started prayin' to the Lord
I could see it sail away, it left me on my own
I stood and watched it fade away — I stood there all alone
And just hung my head, I couldn’t help but cry
I got back into bed, I had to wonder why
I watched it in the distance, it was fading out of sight
I don’t know why it left me here — I know it isn’t right
Please can you help me, 'cause now my ship is gone
