A Pit

I stood on my toes to look over the wall
But the wall weighed up, it was infinite tall
Then I thought, «This is it, I am caught in this cage!»
I am tied to this pit with no means of escape
So I leaned up against a window to see
If the glass would give to the weight of me
But alas, it was thick as the wall I learned
So I squinted my eyes to look out at the world
I looked at the figures and colors at first
I stood and I cried and it felt like my heart could’ve burst
And nothing ever just is what it is
A world of singles, it is what this is
I thought there was purpose in numbers and words
I thought to cave, it felt like my head could’ve burst
