Sunrise

I woke up early this morning to watch the sunrise
And I sat on my living room floor listening to the birds
For a moment I finally understood why I am alive
Cause I met a beauty beyond any words
And all the kids are in love but you convinced us not
We wrote secret little poems as though nobody knew
And then we sat in that field till we felt alright
And you braided my hair until I trusted you
And you were looking at the sun and I was looking at you
And I forgot to remember what to say and what to do
For a moment I felt happy like never before
Cause I didn’t have to worry anymore
We fall in love a hundred types of ways
But I wouldn’t want things to be any different
I just wanna feel like I did in that photograph
I could have sworn I was flying, it’s funny isn’t it?
And you were looking at the sun and I was looking at you
And I forgot to remember what to say and what to do
For a moment I felt happy like never before
Cause I didn’t have to worry anymore
And someone’s playing piano so we start to sing
And I held my breath the first time I saw this place
Cause suddenly things didn’t feel so confusing
Met the universe that day and I didn’t wanna lose it
