There was a time when
it was just you and me
until they came and
made us obsolete
this is the way the universe ends
what was once exciting soon gave way to something new
define a generation by the life forms that they knew
it was a love affair with wayfarers and information
they are among us the children sang
not with a whimper but with a bang
this neglect has made it all clear to me
the time has come to exit life gracefully
proof of life is carbon I am everything you’re not
