Almighty Silence

Silence creeps over me slowly like winter
A thorn in my flesh, a Divine wound, a splinter
I still love you so, night and day
I sometimes just have nothing to say
Sorrow falls on me like evening, but I believe
Tomorrow I will wake rejoicing, for you will wipe my tears away
I long for the stillness of God, heavn’ly silence
But I don’t know what to do with myself when I find it
Should I fill the space with my voice?
Or should I close my mouth and rejoice???
