Vultures

The first rays of light brought a great darkness
They brought it with them into my world
Anticipate the horrors that lie in wait
My time was spent forcing me to leave
Like vultures ripping me apart
Nothing to do but to endure the pain
Like ravens tearing the flesh off my bones
Each pick brings me futher to my grave
Time brings me closer to judgement
This time it almost felt safe
The hours passed and then they came
Like blind rats staring into the void
Can’t see nor hear, relieved it’s not their pain
Stay in the shadows, hidden in plain sight
Choose not to act, accept this bitter fact
Like vultures ripping me apart
Nothing to do but to endure the pain

Screaming at the top of my lungs
I feel the sensation of a pain undivine
No-one seems to hear the endless cries
From the undesired ripped apart
Like vultures, like rats
Shut out the pain, ignore the past
Can’t bring myself to end this loathsome act
A life once worth living, stolen by rats
A rusty blade briefly eases the pain
Not fit to live in a world of neglect
Screaming to deaf ears, silent to the rest of the world
Awaiting a sunrise, bringing darkness to an end
