Strange how we fall out of touch with those we used to know so well…
Blot me out of the back of your mind
Blot me out of the Book of Life
Just blot me out
As sheltered children, we easily boasted of our small-town religion
Held intact because opposition did not exist to surprise us
When all we hear and all we see only affirm
What we believe and every argument suggested is constructed to fail
Are we actually expcted to have a backbone?
I can’t spak for you, but everything collapsed on my weak theology
A storm that terrified my heart of youth into defeat
Everything collapsed on me
And if I doubt, will you still love me, God?

My naïve mentality of this world did not suffice
Though I begged for adversity with bold lips
I was merely equipped to give in
And my resolve suffered as I slipped and fell
With no one to correct my steps
If there’s a truth out there to be found
It no longer remains in my interest
Interrogate yourself
Let your conscience run free for once in your life
What if your faith was fiction?
Would you be afraid to let go of tradition?
