Waltz of the Flies

Friend, would you say it would be a good sign
Someone like me could be losing their mind
Look to the ceiling and wish I could try
To copy the waltz I see done by two flies
It’s a lovely room with lovely wallpaper
Lace doilies to cover the holes in the chairs
Wish I had a doily to place on my head
To cover the holes in my mind that are there
Buzz, buzz, it’s a wonderful feeling
To be upside-down now and waltz on the ceiling
Wouldn’t I do now if I could just try

There’s a bell for the clock, and a bell for the phone
A bell for those men who keep ringing my door
The loveliest bells are the ones in my head
I wonder why I never heard them before
