The Prophet

I was born so they said on a cold day
Conceived in doubt and vowed
I would travel the world for my whole life
Searching for love
I reached out
But the pain
Broke my heart
Just when I’d fallen
Down so low
I got a message
Spoken:
When you look for happiness
You don’t have to run away
Even love that’s not returned
Is still loving all the same
But if you can find the truth
To the real essential you
Than you’ll know what these words mean
And we’ve found the new prophet
I just stopped like a river that’s frozen
Before a flood that comes
Pouring down from the top of a mountain
Drowning all fears
I stood up
Looked around
There was love
So when you’ve fallen
Down so low
Life has no meaning
Come to me
Spoken:
You don’t have to be afraid
Life is love, life is pain
And when you feel all alone
There’s a reason you don’t know
Trust in God and in yourself
Give a lot and ask for less
Now you’ve heard and don’t forget
For I am the prophet
