Light

Looked out the window this morning and
Breathed in
Watched the frost on the fence post
Melting
Gazed around at the rooftops
Steaming
And the moss on the tree bark
Choking
You’ll never know
The ease of the morning
You’re like the light in the morning you
Ease in
At my driveway to torment my
Hearing
Crash around in the daytime you’re
Smoking
Engines stir up the stillness we were
Keeping
Some never know
