Love Is The Thing

I got up, I got down
I could barely breathe or make a sound
Then a man came to me
He said I think I know exactly what you need
He told me
Love is the thing
The thing you ought to try
The thing you ought to try
No need to ask me why
He said that
Love is the thing
The thing you ought to try
Yes, love is a wonderful thing
Well I shook and I moaned
I told him I’d forever be alone
He said son can’t you see
«Here's the only thing you’ll ever need»
He told me
Love is the thing
The thing you ought to try
The thing you ought to try
No need to ask me why
He said that
Love is the thing
The thing you ought to try
Yes, love is a wonderful thing
Ah, love is a wonderful thing
You sit there alone by the phone
Just what you tryin' to prove
Well love is a switch and the itch
That’s gonna bring you to
There’s nothing you can do
I said oh, I’m not well
There must be something more for you to tell
I said wait, please don’t go
He said there’s nothing I can do
But there is something you should know
He said that
Love is the thing
The thing you ought to try
The thing you ought to try
No need to ask me why
He said that
Love is the thing
The thing you ought to try
Yes, love is a wonderful thing
Ah, love is a wonderful thing
Yes, love is a wonderful thing
