Lesson In There Somewhere

Well i cowboyed up and climbed on back of that wild-eyed palomino
I was fearless i was foolish i was gonna be the one to settle him down
They said hold on tight, he’s a real live el diablo
I was sure of myself right up until i hit the ground
I bet there’s a lesson in there somewhere
It’s prob’ly obvious, starin' me in the face
But i don’t feel like learnin' today
Maybe tomorrow
This ain’t the first time i’ve ignored that little voice tellin' me don’t go
there
But listenin' has never been one of my strongest suits
I tend to jump right in, sink or swim and it’s gotten me nowhere
Silly me, i still believe my broken heart is waterproof
I bet there’s a lesson in there somewhere
