The Soil Has a Thirst for Blood

We have lied to the truth and slept in burning beds
Contemplating the distance between uncertain life and death
Chained to an existence that consists of eternal strife
A black veil of endless suffering begs to clothe me
Through which i perceive the emptiness of reality
Bereft of emotion
A dying whisper of a dying life
My mind is poisoned with visions of the end
As i drag my heels through the dirt to which I am condemned
A shred of bliss, remains untouchable still
Struggling with hopes the future can’t fulfill
