Never Stand Down

Making goals was for show
It’s here now they wanna take you down x2

Retreat I won’t allow

Under pressure, I’ve been a little concerned, I’m thinking of what I’ve heard
Road blocks gonna get in the way
Everybody got a plan 'til they’re hit in the face
And I wonder, I feel a little obscure, or maybe I’m insecure
Never get complacent, only constant in all the world is change
That is not the news that I need. Man I got a household to feed
I been saving up 'til we made it up here
Don’t say, «enough», I’m not giving up on it
Everybody gone learn. My vision is on my terms
My bridges are what I’ve burned
I gave 100% and I gave a portion to weekends
And now you threaten, «better do what I say!»

On my conscience, I’ve pleaded my defense
This just don’t make sense
I am never gonna give up x2
I’ve had questions, can’t live in the past tense
Focus on the present
Part of me taking a beating, but I’ve got plenty to treat it
I gotta be undefeated: my kid’s looking to me
Laughing in the face of defeat
Never gonna crush all my dreams
I was missing something within myself
And now I’ve risen up I’m not giving up on it
Everybody concerned, they think it’s absurd
But now it’s my turn
Fast forward, I’m rocking a Fast Ford
I’m clocking the dashboard like I woke on a new day
