Standing near the waters' shore — I can see to the other side
Waves are tossing back & forth — A rock’s in the midst of the tide
Standing strong all by itself — The rock’s sticking out of the sea
If I cross I can rest there — The rock will always protect me
I get out — on the waters — My eyes are focused on the rock
I look around — at the waves — I’m starting to sink, I need help
Save me I’m drowning — I’m a sinking man

I closed my eyes as I swam
I prayed and hoped I wouldn’t die
A wave caught me and tossed me
I knew this was the end of my life
