Ocean Floor

I want to take this heart and throw it off the shore
So it can lay on the bottom of the ocean floor
Till somebody recognizes it’s out of place
I want to trace my life in a coloring book
I’ll show you the colors
You pretend to look
And you think to yourself is this how it’s supposed to be…
And I know it’s not me Though we tend to disagree
As we lie on the bottom of the ocean floor

Under the waves beneath the undertow
Lies a silent refrain of what I used to know
Like a shipwreck lost waiting for someone else to find
And I know that someone might not be me As I break the these chains that set me free
And I think to myself that it’s better off this way…
