I am closer to this Earth
A hollow, fatuous sleep now visits me
Within the shell of my being a war of serpents, both flesh and spirit, stir
Coils that twist and wretch upon one another, both seeking their own completion
From the heart of this contest, I trace the lines of a blade’s edged dance most
terrible
Etched into the walls beneath where my eyes may penetrate
My sleep is end
I am now farther from that Earth
