The Blues Talking

When all is said and done it’s all been done and said
Those empty words keep messing with my head
Same old things and same old strings
But it’s not fooling me it’s just the blues talking
I’ve been hanging on as best I can
I’m taking fire but I’m keeping to my plan
What I didn’t see before now is crawling all over me
That’s the blues talking
Maybe it’s faith maybe just bad luck
And the life I live is nothing good enough
I had some sleepy moments that I still can’t recall
But it’s a wonder to me that I’m still here at all
I hear the blues talking
Yes I hear the blues talking
It’s the blus
Just the blues talking to me
