Mockery

A bygone age his death
is why we’re talking
Why I waste my breath
Just to keep you toking
I still re-cognise
that the day brings back the
things that close your mind
A mockery inside of me
is all we’ll need to make ends meet
Truth be told I’m done
You’re out of luck so
I will not digress
They won’t hide the banner
Take a closer look
It’s not half as empty
as you first mistook
So we breathe ourselves to sleep to achieve sobriety
I don’t want to go down that road again
You don’t want to see me gasping just to get a little air
I don’t want to take you diving off the mountain side
I won’t let you out my sight in case you accidently died
I don’t want to pick your body off the ground again
You don’t want to pick and choose you want the world to be your friend
I’m getting older and I’m getting pretty tired of regretting
We don’t want to go down this road again.
Don’t make promises
that you can-not keep and
Don’t get out your bed
til you’ve been asleep so
you don’t lose your head
cos your body’s weak
and blood is all you’ll bleed
