I Am Held Together

I am held
Together by a string of pills
I take each day
To make sure I don’t run away
With my moods
But I’m so tempted to neglect
My regimen
And throw my Lexapro away
But would I die?
Would my hands begin to shake?
Like a church
Would my paint begin to flake?
Or would I wake?
And see my life as it really is?
And have the strength
To swim again inside my skin?
And put my hand
Once again up to my cheek
And feel its warmth
And push the door into my self?
