Bad Apples

You are bellicose and I like it
When you try to hide your pain
All the neighbors think you’re so strange
Still I look at us and it’s shameful

I’m grumpy and I’m bored with hunger
Nature is a blunder that stubbed its toe
It can only make me wonder
How we ever got in this town
Will we ever come around?
Everyone is rich and their lawns are beautiful
But so are we
Share a cup of tea with the sunset
And my thoughts are clear as mud
But I guess that it’s in the blood
Everyone I know has got a purpose
And I would like to have one, too
Well, I would, but I don’t think I do
We can spread the blame around
