The kids take over now
Bare knuckles, no sorcery
Freckles and dirty mouths
They teach us to be

Bruises and scrapes, countless times
Last when you were a child

Unclouded eyes

Enough snot to snuffle

Bags filled with goo so
Black like licorice

You turn deaf-mute-ish

To everyone
Who missed out to grow up but still
