I’m keeping out of sight staying low
Always being quit moving slow
Nothing but a face in the crowd
Trying not to make my fuss to loud
I won’t forget my place I stand in line
I always try to pay the rent on time
Trying to find a way to kill my days
Waiting for the frame to crack
Next to nothing, next to nothing
Next to nothing at all
Never been close to what I want
I know what to do but still I don’t
I’m sticking to myself I make no sound
Waiting for a chance that might not come
Next to nothing…
Just a flicker in the needle’s eye
Just a grain in a desert storm
Just a drop in a river gone dry
Nothing much at all
I’ve always tried to do what I’ve been told
Only know my neighbors through the walls
Looking out the window at my street
I don’t think this place was meant for me
