How did we say?
What did we talk about?
It’s all a haze
And now it’s fading out
Out of a time when we could smile just to live life
Just to see the light
Places we went
That I can remember
The letters I sent
Not out of love instead
More as a keepsake anchoring me down to keep me holding on
A souvenir of a time that’s past its prime to the end
Can I just pretend?
To tip the hourglass back over again
To be back on the grass sharing stories of places we went
Together forever no matter how near or how far
What I’d give to have that back again
When did we change?
That «slowly grow apart»?
We’re on our way
To losing years of carefree friendship
But I guess that’s what I hate about growing up
The rest is history but the point is stuck and never coming up
Was it just bad luck?
