Well I had a physician,
she barely knew my name
and who’d have guessed, that flowery dress
could bloom such a pretty face
Well I’m not one to mix up,
where ya work and where ya play
But ya better bet, I was sick to death,
from January
until first of May
I said,
Tear me open and stitch me shut
But doctor don’t ya see
That this ol fever’s gonna burn me up
if you don’t attend to me
Well I listed my symptoms
but she saw, through it all
‘Said «it's allergies that make you sneeze,
and the cough is just a cough
Yeah the only thing that’s wrong with you,
is too much alcohol…»
So I ran home and grabbed the phone
and I gave her another call
I said,

That this ol fever’s been burning me up

So she ran her tests and I did my best not to
sneak a couple of peeks
But I lost my sight in those big green eyes,
And can ya really blame me
Cause that golden hair was made to wear
a wild flower threaded through
So on the first of may I asked her to stay,
and be my month of june
