As I contemplate
A world of love and hate
Of man against man
I wonder if this could be the end
Of a planet in decay
Is mankind to blame
For abusing our freedoms
And grafting the root of all evil?
Money
Power
Or animal desire
Ego
Hatred
Some say we’re all born wicked
Lazy
Crazy
In acts of desperation
Is greed
The creed
Of a bankrupt nation?
We’re all looking for paradise
In the arms of a god
But we’re living in the paradigm
Of a lightning rod
In our epitaph
Who will have the last laugh
As our bones turn to dust
And our apples ripen to a red rust?
We live what we believe
Our faith too blind to see
We gave away all our freedoms

Murder
For hire
