I can’t sit by and tolerate
There’s something on my mind
And I’ve got to get it straight
Why couldn’t we have tried a little harder
To bend the limits, instead we hide
Why couldn’t we have gone a little farther
Instead of watching courage into self pity subside
Do we have to repeat it again and again?
Was it all just wasted breath?
I don’t see the point in showing long healed scars
Even this means beloved scapegoats certain death
Stagnant
Seen and heard before
In our imperfect jigsaw of lamentation
We’re the single piece that will never fit
If we will never stop regurgitating
Unnecessary autopsies
Of long solved problems bit by bit
Stagnant
Seen and heard before
I respect anybody
Who takes one step up, not opposite wise
Who won’t stick to whining
Or seeking sympathy in worn out alibis
