The blood red moon bode something wild
and there was born a voodoo child
mothers fell down to their knees
and prayed that god deliver me
lord save this voodoo child
Third month third day three a.m.
i danced into this world and said here i am
the doctor tried to slap me but i stopped him in his tracks
i was born standin' up and talkin' back
some people said i was a problem child
mamma just laughed and said he’s born to be wild
