Put A Hat On

You gotta put a hat on,
when it’s cold outside
you need a hat on, so your head can hide
from the icy winter chill that can make you really ill
without a hat on.
Outside your head gets cold and heat escapes,
the lake is frozen and a skater skates.
Downtown the winter weather makes the buses all run late,
and the Weather Channel says get out your flannel now before it’s too late.
You gotta put a hat on,
I’m sure that you’ve been told
to put a hat on, so you don’t catch cold.
It can be a lot of fun to put your head inside of one,
so put a hat on.
Inside it’s toasty warm in the family room,
where you watch a Spiderman cartoon.
But outside the wind will sweep you away just like a broom,
so cover your head or you’ll be sick in bed with the flu.
