Captain John put his life vest on
As he climbed aboard his schooner every day at dawn
The wind in his sail was his only fuel
And «no bananas on the boat» was his only rule
Captain John had a crew of ten
Able-bodied, bold, but superstitous men
Not a single hand among the group
Would dare bring a banana up aboard the sloop, because
