New Normal

Sitting alone with the windows open
Ninety degrees and the AC’s broken
In my mind, I’m almost frozen
I play for a while on the old piano
Lie on the floor and light some candles
Figuring out what I can handle
We don’t have to fight, see each other cry
We don’t wake each other up in the middle of the night
No one to tell me what to do, tell my secrets to
Gotta keep them all inside somehow
I guess this is the new normal now
Telling a friend how I’m doing
Try not to get too far into it
If I’m not careful, I know I’ll lose it
This neighborhood has a charm about it
